Brannock D. Au Sr., 66, of Volcano died March 23. Born in Honolulu, he worked for the family construction firm, William R. Au, Jr. General Contracting, and was at one time a state-ranked motocross racer. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by son, Brannock D. Au Jr.; daughters; Puanani, Shawnna-Lei and Calenna-Lani; brothers, Wedemeyer and Rusty; sisters, Marlene, Sharon and Vannassa; sister-in-law, Sandy; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Born in Kamakura, Japan, he was the retired representative and president of Allied Signal Inc., Asia, and member of Japanese Community Association of Hawaii and numerous golf clubs. Services pending. Survived by wife, Ann Kawai of Hilo; sons, Akio (David McCauley) Kawai of San Francisco and Seiji (Fumiko) Kawai of Tokyo; daughter, Setsuko (Sheldon) Johnson of San Diego; sisters, Mikako Ito of Kamakura and Taeko Adachi of Kanagawa, Japan; sisters-in-law, Yuriko Kawai of Tokyo and Rumiko Kawai of Kamakura; brother-in-law, Masahiko Adachi of Kanagawa; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
